UNLABELED is both a visual and conceptual exploration of the forces that affect the accuracy of communication. UNLABELED studies communication by being that in itself. The content is a series of writings inspired by the postmodern condition’s effect on language philosophy and linguistics, and how that in turn affects literature and art. The form for this project is a book for the writings to live in that is filled with experimental imagery to add to the narrative, as well as posters that highlight key terms for understanding the content, and other branding collateral to help convey the ideas explored in the text. The visual language also works as a representation of the forces that are constantly affecting the accuracy of communication. The images work to add a narrative atmosphere to the text, as well as attempting to combat the challenges that the postmodern condition has placed on art and literature.
